Safety and Health Magazine has compiled a list of the top 10 OSHA violations recorded for 2016. Take a look at these violations and consider whether or not some of them may be familiar to your company. This data was compiled over the fiscal year 2016, which ended on September 30th. Each category can be compared with its 2015 rank and although there is not much difference in the ranking, it is important to note that some of these violations can be very common in the workplace. Below is the chart of the 10 most common serious violations of 2016. Serious violations are those with substantial probability that serious physical harm or death could occur do to the hazard. The employer should have known about the hazard, or is expected to have known about it.
Below is the chart for the 10 most common willful violations. Willful violations are those that are made with intentional disregard of Occupational Safety and Health Act requirements.
